designed by ingo maurer and team, 1989, bakarú is a lighting system comprised of various elements or sets. elements are constructed of plastic, metal, ceramic and multi-mirror reflectors with protective glass covers. bakarú is a low-voltage lighting system fed by a transformer fitted with an integrated watch tronic power monitoring system and a thermal fuse, reducing the main current to 12 volts.
bakarú is available as a wall or ceiling set and can be installed horizontally, vertically or diagonally. the lighting elements can be moved anywhere along the cables and turned in any direction. a second transformer is recommended with use of special cables longer than 19.5’. special cable maximum capacity is 350 watts. black, blue or silver shades are available, but not included in the standard set.
Bakarú is patented and has been awarded the TÜV/GS seal of approval. the transformer complies with the relevant TÜV/GS and SEV standards.
