the beautiful windows designed by frank lloyd wright for his architectural projects during the twenties and thirties inspired the prairie fan. rather than the shockingly colorful glass used by the victorian glass artists of his day, wright used subtle variations in translucency, generally in clear and white glass punctuated with highlights of color. the simple, square-glass pattern framed in a bronze fixture typifies the simplicity of design in this period, focusing the eye on the beauty of the glass. this fanlight has hand assembled stained glass panels in a historic frame. the fan itself, however, uses the most current technology with die-cast construction and a lifetime motor. comes with both 3" and 9" down rods.
the period arts fan company has succeeded in transporting these design elements across time to be enjoyed today, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
period arts fan company also offers another version of this fan called library with the yellow-green glass favored by the west coast arts & crafts designers.
